At the Fringe again

Just returned home from a fantastic holiday for myself and Lucy in Edinburgh. We rented a flat in the middle of the city for nearly two weeks, and were able to see dozens of shows at The Fringe, the world’s largest arts festival, including the world’s largest Comedy festival. This year, we went by train (via Crewe – cheaper than via Stafford). No long drive at top and tail of the holiday. Fantastic. My last role in IBM before leaving in June was working on a proposal at RBS in Edinburgh. It Read more […]

Wow, a PM communityI am looking forward to learning a lot from this community and making some new friends. I left IBM in June 2013 after 11 years with them (joined when they acquired the consulting arm of PricewaterhouseCoopers). I spent most of the latter half of my time leading large complex system integration projects.Whilst I have used many PM methodologies, including IBM's own, unlike many of the staff I managed, I never got around to doing external exams (PMI et al), I think maybe because Read more […]

I have seen this happen. The other variation is leaving a company and having your old company buy your new company. Spoke to a colleague (in IBM) today who has been through this twice and I spoke to another guy last year who it happened to four times (also IBM) – he said he was going to retire soon, it wouldn't happen again. via Google+ https://plus.google.com/108083406947097710872/posts/EDEYnpzxsoW

This is amazing. A movie made by moving individual atoms. Officially the world's smallest movie. Well done +IBM – I'm proud to be an IBMer. I work in the Global Business Services side of the company but just knowing the amazing research that is going on that you know will lead to useful products is thrilling. #ibm #atom #movie via Google+ https://plus.google.com/108083406947097710872/posts/Zbfm4Ldrszu Read more […]
